Virtual European Exchange Programme

The Virtual European Exchange Programme (VEEP) is the virtual exchange programme within the University Alliance EUPeace (European University for Peace, Justice, Inclusive Societies). The European University for Peace, Justice and Inclusive Societies, EUPeace, evolves out of nine core member universities that have committed their strategic international outlook in teaching, research and administration in higher education to the the core ideas and values expressed in the jointly created EUPeace Mission Statement. The commitment to peace, justice, and inclusive societies is at the core of the European ideal and needs to be continuously cultivated. Universities have a strong role to play in the development of teaching, research, and outreach activities fostering the demanding conditions for peace.

The Alliance partner universities are: Marburg University (Germany), Justus Liebig University Giessen (Germany), University of Limoges (France), University of Calabria (Italy), Comillas Pontifical University (Spain), University of West Bohemia (Czech Republic), University of Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Cukurova University (Turkey), University of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Funded by the European Union. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). Neither the European Union nor EACEA can be held responsible for them.

What is it?

Are you a student from one of the Alliance partner universities (see above) and want to participate in a great online learning experience at JLU Giessen? If the answer is yes, then this programme is the right fit for you: The Alliance-wide Virtual European Exchange Programme (VEEP) allows students from Alliance partner universities to participate in an international online learning experience – in the broad field of peace, justice and inclusive societies.

So, dear future virtual exchange students, at JLU you can choose 1-5 courses from a multilingual course offer across 11 faculties offered at different levels – undergraduate, graduate, and teacher education-specific! Whether you are just starting or advancing your studies, you´ll find a course that fits your needs. Additionally, you can also participate in an online German language course.

You can remotely ‘visit’ JLU Giessen and gain insight into the German Education System from home. It can also be a great opportunity to already get to know JLU before a physical exchange semester in Giessen or after an exchange semester to stay connected and still participate in interesting courses at JLU.

How does it work?

The Virtual European Exchange Programme (VEEP) is the virtual exchange programme in the University Alliance EUPeace. The Virtual International Programme is the virtual exchange programme for all of JLU's partner universities. This means that, if you are a student from one of the Alliance member universities, you would apply for “VEEP”, instead of "VIP". However, both programmes share one course catalogue and one application form. So, no worries!

  • Explore courses:  Browse the course catalogue for Bachelor’s and Master’s options. Be sure to check the prerequisites and schedules for each course.
  • Submit application: Complete the online application form.
  • Watch for responses: Keep an eye out for acceptance emails regarding the status of each course application.
  • Enrol if accepted: Follow JLU's step-by-step enrolment guide after being accepted into at least one course!

For more details, check our    Application page!

Developing the Virtual European Exchange Programme (VEEP) at JLU is exclusively funded by the DAAD EUN Begleitprogramm through the BMFTR.
