Academic Starter Kit

No matter if you are thinking about studying at JLU or have already enrolled in one of our programmes, there are some specific things you may want to know more about. For this reason, we want to introduce you to the academic system and let you know what you can expect.

In order to help you understand and navigate through the German academic sphere, we set up a short series of videos presenting the most relevant details to your German university experience. The following five videos cover a number of topics:

  1. Types of Universities in Germany
  2. Types of Degrees in Germany
  3. The Curriculum
  4. The Grading System
  5. Information on Times and Dates

Below the video series, you can find freely available contents related to your studies. Basic knowledge concerning academic work, research and writing is among the online learning units. Please note that the provided links will take you to our learning management system ILIAS where the material is freely available without registration. We will soon provide more learning material for you in English.
